VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — In the second night of the preliminary competition of the 2026 Miss Mississippi, the judges selected three winners.
In a surprise move the judges selected a tie for the Health and Fitness portion of the competition naming Miss University Cameron Davis and Miss All-America City Malley Chase Faulkner.
Miss University Cameron Davis is a native of Meridian and attended the University of Mississippi. Her talent was a high energy dance routine and she has hopes of becoming a Clinical Psychologist.
As part of Davis’ Community Service Initiative, she wants to help make the world a little easier for those with a sensitivity to sensory perception. The Sensory Shift, her project, seeks to promote sensory inclusivity through education and by raising awareness of sensory processing needs in the community. It aims at creating accessible, supportive environments where everyone can thrive.
Miss All-America City Malley Chase Faulker is a native of Oxford and attended the University of Mississippi. For her talent, Chase captivated the audience as she related how the color pink symbolized both soft and difficult moments in her life. Faulkner has hopes of becoming a sports broadcaster.
Faulkner’s Community Service Initiative is River’s Hope. The project is dedicated to raising awareness for suicide prevention and promoting mental health through education, compassion and connection. The program is inspired by her brother, River, whose legacy serves to ensure no one feels alone in their struggle and every life is valued.
The winner of the talent portion of the second night of preliminaries was Miss Tupelo McKenzie Cox. She left the audience stunned with her vocal abilities. Cox is a native of Oxford and attended Ole Miss. She has hopes of becoming an attorney and political analyst.
For her Community Service Initiative, Cox calls her project Sharing Food, Sharing Hope. The project aims to change the way people interact with eft food environment by providing access to nutritious food, educating about food systems and advocating for policy changes. She wants to build sustainable solutions for food insecurity in communities.
The third night of competition will begin tonight, June 12 where more preliminary winners will be announced. The 2026 Miss Mississippi winner will be named Saturday evening at the Vicksburg Convention Center.
