Students hold WC teacher back from student after verbal altercation

A widely distributed video on social media shows a Warren Central Educator being held back from physically confronting a student.
The video begins with the student being expelled from the classroom.
The visual evidence does not include what happened before the video. We have contacted the School District and others who may have been involved to obtain that part of the story.
One of those individuals, a student, said, “Someone had stole the boy phone when he went to that bathroom so he cuss them out and the teacher told him to leave the class and go to the office so when he walked out he said “bye b***h” and she ran out the class room and pushed him and then proceeded to to try to fight him after the fact.”
The Vicksburg Daily News also spoke with the student’s Uncle and Aunt, who stated the same circumstances with minor differences. “The school did not contact my sister. She found out from my nephew,” said the Uncle. The 16-year-old student said to his Uncle, “I was in the wrong for the way I handled it.”
The video captures the student exiting the classroom as the educator is standing just outside the door in an aggressive stance with an angry expression. As the student passes, they direct a derogatory term towards the educator. In response, the educator immediately pursues the student, moving out of the camera’s view.
The next view of them is with someone in an orange vest with their hands out, trying to keep the two apart. The educator is yelling, “You wanna call somebody a B…h!” challenging the student. What happens next is ambiguous, but physical contact was made between the student and educator, maybe even a kick. The student backs up, and the educator aggressively steps toward them, yelling, “Come on! Come one!” as if taunting them to fight.
The Vicksburg Daily News has contacted the VWSD media person for a response to this event. At the time of publication, some three hours after reaching out, the school district has not responded. The Vicksburg Daily News has not reached out to the educator because of the District’s media policy that prevents educators from speaking to the media without prior approval. Although we have been given the educator’s name several times, we are withholding her name at this time.
