VICKSBURG, Miss. – The Strand Theatre will feature the Talking Heads’ monumental live-performance documentary “Stop Making Sense” this Saturday, June 15.

Filmmakers shot the documentary over four nights in December 1983 at Hollywood’s Pantages Theatre while Talking Heads were on tour promoting their album “Speaking in Tongues.” “Stop Making Sense” includes performances of the early Talking Heads single “Psycho Killer” and their most recent hit at the time, “Burning Down the House.” It also features songs from the solo career of frontman David Byrne and by Tom Tom Club, the side project of drummer Chris Frantz and bassist Tina Weymouth.

In 2021, the Library of Congress selected it for preservation in the United States National Film Registry as “culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant.”

The show will begin at 7:00 p.m., and tickets are $9.00 and available in advance at Highway 61 Coffeehouse. For more information, call 601-529-7252.
