Vicksburg native Jeremy Meekins has been named the recipient of the Charitable Service Award at the Atlanta Agent’s Choice Awards after receiving the highest number of votes in the competition. As part of the honor, Meekins will be featured in Atlanta Agent Magazine.

Raised in Vicksburg, Meekins is the founder of the nonprofit organization Simply Dop3 Xperience, which was created to help address childhood trauma and steer young people away from juvenile crime. For nearly a decade, he has organized youth-focused events centered on leadership, education and community service.

Among his most notable initiatives are annual back-to-school drives coupled with celebrity basketball games. Through partnerships with sponsors such as McDonald’s and Cricket Wireless, the events have provided thousands of backpacks filled with school supplies to children in need. The programs have also been credited with helping reduce juvenile crime rates and improving classroom behavior among participating youth.

Now residing in Atlanta, Meekins continues his commitment to service by volunteering with the United Way of Greater Atlanta and supporting Helmets to Boots, a nonprofit organization that assists veterans in rebuilding stability, purpose and a positive outlook on life.

Meekins is a graduate of Jackson State University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice. He later obtained a Master of Business Administration from Belhaven University. He is also a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc. and the Metro Atlanta Jackson State Alumni Association.
