Sam Donald to headline Saturday’s free concert at Washington Park

VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — As part of the ongoing Levitt AMP Vicksburg Music Series Presented by Mutual Credit Union, Sam Donald will take the stage Saturday, Oct. 23 beginning at 6:30 p.m. at Washington Street Park.

Born in Jackson and based out of the Mississippi Gulf Coast, Sam Donald has created a new sound for country music. By blending gritty Southern storytelling, country roots, heavy guitar riffs and raw rock intensity into what he calls “grunge country.”

In 2024, Donald’s music exploded on TikTok, and since then his songs and videos have generated more than 15 million views in only six weeks. This explosion lead to him becoming nationally recognized.

With what has been called powerhouse vocals and songs like “Make You Want God,” “Nickels & Dimes” and “Son of the Sandman,” Donald delivers country music with a dark Southern edge and enough energy to shake Washington Street Park.

So make plans to join the party in downtown Vicksburg, but don’t forget to bring your lawn chair.

There will also be a free kid zone to occupy the ‘littles’.
