Vicksburg native Tyler Henderson now holds 16 Division I football scholarship offers

VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — Vicksburg native Tyler Henderson now holds 16 Division I football scholarship offers. The Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College standout wide receiver continues to draw attention after a string of dominant performances this season.

On Thursday night, Henderson helped the Bulldogs win their seventh straight Mississippi Association of Community Colleges Conference (MACCC) South Division title with a 31-10 victory over Hinds Community College. He caught four passes for 128 yards, including a 62-yard touchdown reception.

After the win, Henderson’s season totals rose to 1,010 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns, averaging 112 yards per game.

Henderson currently holds Division I offers from the following schools:

  • The University of Tennessee at Martin
  • Western Kentucky University
  • The University of Texas at San Antonio
  • East Carolina University
  • Kennesaw State University
  • The University of Texas at El Paso
  • Texas State University
  • Middle Tennessee State University
  • Appalachian State University
  • Sacramento State University
  • Prairie View A&M University
  • Texas Southern University
  • The University of Southern Mississippi
  • Liberty University
  • The University of Louisiana at Monroe
  • Sam Houston State University

Henderson has become a consistent offensive threat for Mississippi Gulf Coast, often putting on highlight performances every Thursday night.

With 16 offers already on the table, those numbers are expected to rise as more universities pursue Henderson, who is considered one of the top prospects in junior college football. He has not yet announced where he intends to play next season.

Henderson is a 2024 graduate of Vicksburg High School, where he played under head coaches Christopher Lacey and Todd McDaniel.
