Volunteer at the park day set for April 25

VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) —  Looking for a rewarding way to spend a day outdoors while making a real impact? Roll up your sleeves and be part of preserving history during this nationwide volunteer effort.

 We are once again participating in the American Battlefield Trust Park Day on Saturday, April 25, joining volunteers across the country in cleanup and beautification projects at historic sites from the Revolutionary War and Civil War eras. This year, Vicksburg National Military Park will focus efforts on Grant’s Canal, working to clear walkways, remove debris, clean signage, and repaint bollards.

 Volunteers will meet at the Visitor Center for a brief overview before heading to the site to begin work. It is a great opportunity to give back, connect with others, and help care for one of the park’s important historic areas. Signup for this event can be found below using the “Sign Up Here” button.
