In-person public meetings scheduled to gather feedback on Yazoo Backwater Study Draft Environmental Impact Statement

Vicksburg, Miss. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Vicksburg District has announced a series of public meetings to gather feedback on the Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS) for the Yazoo Backwater Study Area. The DEIS, published on June 28, 2024, outlines proposed actions and potential impacts related to flood risk management in the region.

Residents, stakeholders, and interested parties are encouraged to attend these meetings to learn more about the study and also provide their input. The meetings will be held at the following locations and times:

In-Person Meetings:

Rolling Fork: South Delta Elementary School, 138 Weathers Avenue, Rolling Fork, MS 39159

During these meetings, attendees will have the opportunity to review project materials, ask questions, and provide feedback on the DEIS. Public participation ensures that decision-makers consider all viewpoints.
