BILOXI, Miss. (VDN) — The Warren Central High School baseball team finished with a 4-4 tie against Hartfield Academy on Wednesday.

Both teams scored late in the game as the contest ended in a draw due to tournament rules.

The Vikings scored all four of their runs in the fifth inning. Justin Evans got Warren Central on the board with a two-run single. Tristan Jamison followed with an RBI double and later stole home to give the Vikings a 4-0 lead.

Hartfield Academy answered in the sixth inning when Shelton delivered a three-run single. HA added another run on a sacrifice in the seventh inning to tie the game at 4-4.

Because of tournament rules, no extra innings were played and the game ended in a tie.

Blake Caruthers recorded a hit for Warren Central. Nathaniel Moore struck out seven batters, while Jamison finished with two strikeouts.

The Vikings will return to action Thursday against Tupelo.
