Northern Lights may happen again tonight and tomorrow
The Northern Lights that thrilled so many will most likely happen again tonight and tomorrow night as well. The rare phenomenon is caused by solar winds and seldom happen this far south in the hemisphere. The rarity of the event along with the stunning visuals create a once in a lifetime opportunity.
So far the best views have been on camera phones. On your camera, with your flash off, look to the north, in an area with minimal ground light. If your phone has a “Night” option, use that. It will take a long exposure photo that will take in more light and allow more of the aurora borelis to be seen.
Tonights forcast calls for partly cloudy skies, but, like Friday Night’s Lights, there should be opportunities to see the display.
