VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — Kavel Diana Creekmore passed away on Saturday, August 29, 2026. She was 79 years old.
Life and Legacy of Kavel Diana Creekmore
Diana was born on February 23, 1947 in Delhi, La., to J.D. “Mike” Porter and Lillian Marguerite Hooter Porter. She was a talented artist, having taught herself how to paint by watching Bob Ross. However, her true passion was as a mother and grandmother. She loved children, animals and always wanted to be a mommy. She was the life of the party and quickly befriended everyone she met. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her step-son, Karl Wesley Creekmore.

She is survived by her husband, Guy Creekmore, Sr.; sons, Phillip C. Blake (Karen) and Shane Blake (Melonie) and step-son, Guy Wayne Creekmore, Jr. (Jeanene); brother, Mikiel Porter; grandchildren, Dustin Phillip Blake (Lizette), Eric Blake, Brian Blake, Tyler Blake (Avery), Ashley Blake, Brittany Case (Tracy), and Daniel Creekmore (Paige); great-grandchildren, Kane Blake, Dustin Blake Jr., Ireland Blake, Gunnar Blake, Emily Creekmore, Lindsay Creekmore, Bailey Blake, Adelyn Blake, Miley Blake, and Layson Blake and step-great-grandchildren, Madison Helbt and Travis Helbt (Karlee); great-great-grandchild, Creed Helbt; nieces, Shannon Hixon (Sammy) and Callie Blake (Byron); and many beloved great-nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at Glenwood Funeral Home in Vicksburg, Miss., on Thursday, September 10, 2026 from 10 a.m. until the hour of the service at 11 a.m. Pastor Mike Fields will officiate. Graveside services will immediately follow at Greenlawn Gardens Cemetery in Vicksburg, MS.
