Star-Spangled Night Run returns to Vicksburg June 21

VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — The Southern Cultural Heritage Foundation (SCHF) will host the eighth annual Star-Spangled Night Run in Vicksburg on Saturday, June 21, at 8 p.m. The 5K run/walk will take participants through downtown and begin and end at the Southern Cultural Heritage Center.

The event is open for registration. Entry fees are:

• $35 for the 5K individual registration
• $15 for children 12 and under
• Add $5 to each fee after June 14

Participants in the 5K will receive a Night Run T-shirt, race bib, glow item, and free admission to the after-party. Spirit Runners (non-racers) may register for $25 and receive a T-shirt, glow item, and party access. After-party-only armbands are $10.

The first 150 registered participants are guaranteed a Night Run T-shirt. Entry forms and full details are available at southernculture.org. Forms and payments may be dropped off at the SCHF business office or mailed to SCHF, 1302 Adams St., Vicksburg, MS 39180. Online registration is available at raceroster.com.

Race packet pick-up is scheduled for Friday, June 20, from 3 to 6 p.m. at the SCHF Auditorium (corner of Crawford and Cherry streets), and again before the race on Saturday beginning at 6:30 p.m.

Following the race, the after-party will be held in the SCHF Auditorium, with food, drinks, music, and fun for all. Runners and walkers gain free entry by showing their race bib; volunteers may enter with their Night Run T-shirt. All others may purchase an armband for $10.
