FLOWOOD, Miss. (VDN) — The Sunkist Swim Team has named Matthew Poulin as its new head coach, the team announced this week.

Founded in 1975 as the Jackson Aquatic Club, Sunkist has more than 50 years of swimming tradition in Mississippi. The program emphasizes long-term athlete development, both in and out of the pool.

Poulin is no stranger to the Sunkist program. He has served as an assistant coach with the team while also leading the Northwest Rankin swim program as head coach. Prior to returning to the Jackson area, he coached for Delta Aquatic Club in Cleveland, Miss.

A graduate of Delta State University with a degree in exercise science, Poulin was a key member of the four-time NSISC Champion Delta State swim team. As a high school swimmer, he competed for Sunkist and Brandon High School, earning Male Swimmer of the Year honors at both programs.

Sunkist leadership said they are proud to welcome Poulin into his new role and are confident he will continue to build on the team’s legacy of excellence.
