A Beacon of Hope: Beautiful Deliverance outreach ministry transforms lives in Vicksburg
VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — At 4304 Halls Ferry Road in Vicksburg, Mississippi, there’s a place where hope is more than a word, it’s a daily mission. Beautiful Deliverance Outreach Ministry, founded in 2013 by Lisa Kapp and Dale Barnes, is on the frontlines of the battle against addiction and homelessness, quietly and powerfully restoring lives one person at a time.
What began as a small ministry has blossomed into a lifeline for thousands. Since opening its doors, Beautiful Deliverance has provided housing, support, and spiritual guidance to men, women, and children facing the devastating impacts of addiction and instability. With no state or federal funding, the ministry operates entirely on donations and divine faith.
“We are committed to seeing lives, dignity, and families restored,” said Lisa Kapp. “Every dime we receive is poured back into the mission: housing, food, utilities, transportation, and care.”
The outreach’s work is deeply embedded in the community. Beautiful Deliverance partners closely with local law enforcement, the court system, the Department of Human Services, and youth courts across multiple counties. Whether it’s answering a call from the jail about someone soon to be released with nowhere to go, or taking in children whose parents are battling addiction, this ministry responds with compassion and action.
Since beginning housing operations in 2016, Beautiful Deliverance has welcomed over 600 individuals into safe transitional homes. “We get phone calls daily,” said Lisa. “From jails, rehab centers, churches, and desperate families. We’ve become the call people make when they have nowhere else to turn.”
The needs are vast and ever-changing. For some, it’s a warm meal. For others, it’s emergency shelter, a clean shower, or transportation to a treatment facility—sometimes up to six hours away. The ministry makes between 15 to 20 trips a month, each costing approximately $150 in fuel and food.
At the heart of Beautiful Deliverance is a powerful spiritual component. The ministry offers Bible-based classes, worship services, guest speakers, and singers who bring messages of healing and redemption. Residents and visitors alike are encouraged to grow in faith while rebuilding their lives.
“When I came home from rehab and had no friends, every single person here listened to my cries and stood in the gap for me,” shared one graduate participant (name withheld due to privacy). “I felt like I’d never recover from all the destruction addiction caused in my life, but this place gave me hope.”
Beyond immediate needs, the ministry equips individuals to re-enter society with purpose. Graduates of the program have received donated vehicles, found permanent housing, and even gained employment through referrals. One recent milestone includes the donation of a house, soon to be converted into a thrift store to help sustain the ministry’s mission financially.
One of Beautiful Deliverance’s most significant victories came recently: they paid off their primary facility, a considerable achievement after years of fundraising. With the mortgage behind them, the ministry has set its sights on the future: a new, larger building to expand services, priced at an estimated $750,000.
From financial donations and hygiene supplies to household items and vehicles, Vicksburg residents and businesses have stepped up. Banquets and fundraisers have helped chip away at big goals. The ministry continues to operate without federal or state funds, crediting all success to Jesus Christ and the faithful support of donors and volunteers.
“Every story matters,” said Kapp. “Every recovery is a testimony. And every dollar given goes toward changing someone’s future.”
Beautiful Deliverance always welcomes:
- Financial donations
- Hygiene and household items
- School and office supplies
- Gently used vehicles
- Volunteer time and prayers
As they prepare to take the next step with a new building, the ministry remains committed to its founding promise: to stand in the gap for the broken and help them walk into freedom. “Whom the Son sets free, is free indeed.” John 8:36
