Eight wounded, one critically, in early Monday North Mart Plaza shooting in Jackson

JACKSON, Miss. (VDN) — Eight people were wounded, one critically, in a shooting early Monday, August 11, at North Mart Plaza, authorities said.

Capitol Police said the gunfire broke out shortly after midnight. Officers arrived to find victims ranging in age from 21 to 40. One remains in critical condition. The others were treated with non-life threatening injuries,

According to WAPT, there were at least 30 shell casings marked off at the scene near State Street and Meadowbrook Road near a night club in North Mart Plaza.

No arrests have been made, and the investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to call Capitol Police at 601-359-3125.
