Free popcorn and The Phoenician Scheme at the Strand this Saturday
VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) – Film lovers will have the chance to experience Wes Anderson’s The Phoenician Scheme when it comes to The Strand Theatre on Saturday, Sept. 20, at 7 p.m. Tickets are $10.
Known for his meticulous visual style and eccentric storytelling, Anderson has developed a devoted following through films such as The Grand Budapest Hotel, Moonrise Kingdom and Asteroid City. The Phoenician Scheme continues in that tradition, blending sharp dialogue, carefully crafted sets and a cast of quirky characters with the director’s signature use of color and symmetry.
The Strand Theatre, located in downtown Vicksburg, has become a hub for independent and foreign cinema in the region. Alongside mainstream offerings, it regularly brings in offbeat titles and hard-to-find gems for local audiences. Community organizers say events like this provide a rare opportunity for residents to see films that otherwise might not make it to local screens.
Tickets for the screening are $10 and will be available at the door. Seating is limited, and organizers encourage early arrival.
