Lady Vikes open their season with a 48-28 win over Natchez
NATCHEZ, Miss. (VDN) — Warren Central High School’s girls’ basketball team opened the season with a 48-28 victory on the road Tuesday night over Natchez High School, improving to 1-0 under Head Coach Heather Casey.
The Lady Vikes took control early with a 10-3 lead in the first quarter, highlighted by a 3-pointer from Kylee Chambers. By halftime, they extended their advantage to 21-7 and never looked back.
Camara Evans led the way in the second half, finishing with a team-high 14 points. She also added nine rebounds and five assists.
Ka’Ryn Henderson contributed six points, six rebounds and four steals. Chambers, Shaniyah Lewis and Ballet Duty each scored five points. Arrionna Jenkins and Keasia Williams added four apiece, while Kayla Parsons had three and Destiney Lisenbee chipped in two. Jenkins also grabbed 10 rebounds, and Williams had seven rebounds with three steals.
Skyla Hamilton led NHS with 11 points.
The Lady Vikes return to action Thursday when they travel to Yazoo City.
