Flashes defeat Manchester 50-40

YAZOO, Miss.(VDN) — The St. Aloysius High School boys’ basketball team picked up a road win Monday night, defeating Manchester Academy 50-40, while the Lady Flashes and junior high teams also saw action.

St. Aloysius was led by Carson Gleese, who poured in 26 points to pace the Flashes. Garrod Bunch added 12 points, giving St. Aloysius a strong scoring duo. Sadler Lambiotte finished with six points and contributed across the board with three assists and three steals. Carter Henderson rounded out the scoring with six points and pulled down six rebounds as the Flashes secured the 10-point victory away from home.

In the girls’ varsity matchup, St. Aloysius fell to Manchester Academy 56-13. Kennadi Blassingham led the Lady Flashes with four points. Kelci Bingham, Megan Theriot, Annslee Averett and Presley Carr each scored two points, while Taryn Lusby added one point in the loss.

At the junior high level, the St. Aloysius boys earned a 32-17 win over Manchester Academy. Noah Ponder led the way with 16 points, while Adam Dorbeck added nine. Kellen Crocker, Owen Mallard and Jackson Ratliff each scored two points, and Reeves Sadler finished with one point.

The St. Aloysius junior high girls came up short in a close contest, falling 16-14 to Manchester. Bingham led the team with eight points, while Blassingame added six in the narrow loss.
