Tyler Henderson is now playing football at the University of Alabama
Tuscaloosa, Ala.(VDN) — Tyler Henderson, Vicksburg native, is now playing football at the University of Alabama. Henderson confirmed the information the Vicksburg Daily News on Friday. He originally committed to Kennesaw State University back in December.
Henderson recently starred at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College, where he led the nation in receiving yards. He recorded 68 receptions, averaged 109.3 yards per game and scored 12 touchdowns. He finished the season with 1,228 receiving yards and 13 total receiving touchdowns, earning a spot on the All-Region Team.
Henderson helped lead the Bulldogs to a 9-2 record and a MACCC championship appearance in 2025. Known for his playmaking ability, he is expected to be a significant addition to Alabama’s offense.
A 2024 graduate of Vicksburg High School, Henderson was considered underrated at the prep level. He quickly changed that perception in college, becoming one of the top junior college prospects in the nation after two standout seasons at Gulf Coast.
Before signing with Alabama, Henderson had over 35 other Division 1 offers.
