Dr. Samuel Pierce receives United Hero Award

VICKSBURG, Miss.(VDN) — Vicksburg native Dr. Samuel L. Pierce has received the United Hero Award, according to an announcement made Thursday by Medical Associates of Vicksburg on its Facebook page.

In the post, the clinic said the recognition is especially meaningful because it is based on feedback from patients.

“This prestigious honor is especially meaningful because it’s based on feedback from the patients he serves,” the post read. “Dr. Pierce and his team consistently provide outstanding care to UnitedHealthcare Medicare Advantage members, demonstrating exceptional compassion, dedication, and seamless care coordination.

“His commitment to creating positive patient experiences truly makes a difference in transforming the health and well-being of our community. This recognition is well deserved.”

Pierce specializes in internal medicine and graduated from the University of Mississippi Medical Center in 2009. He completed his residency in the Department of Internal Medicine at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in 2012.

He is board certified in internal medicine and has also been board certified by the American Association of Medical Review Officers since 2020.

A Vicksburg native, Pierce has practiced locally since 2012 at Medical Associates of Vicksburg. He is married to Kellie Wright Pierce, and the couple has three sons.
