PCA uses big second half to defeat Clinton Christian 46-16
Porter’s Chapel Academy secured a 46-16 victory over Clinton Christian Academy in their season opener, showcasing a strong second half performance. Thomas Antwine, in his debut as quarterback, contributed significantly with three touchdowns.

Porter’s Chapel Academy used a dominant second half to secure a 46-16 win over Clinton Christian Academy on Friday in its season opener.
The Eagles improved to 1-0 under Head Coach Blake Purvis as Thomas Antwine made his debut as PCA’s QB1 and accounted for three touchdowns.
“I’m really proud of everyone today, and we made the changes we needed to make at halftime,” Antwine said.
PCA struck first after Lakelan Pecanty broke loose for a 30-yard run that put the Eagles at the Clinton Christian 5-yard line. Myles Randle finished the drive with a 5-yard touchdown run, and Pecanty added the 2-point conversion to give PCA an 8-0 lead.
The Warriors responded when Cole Stubbs broke free for a 40-yard touchdown run. Stubbs also converted the 2-point attempt to tie the game at 8-8.
PCA regained the lead before halftime when Antwine connected with Pecanty for a 44-yard touchdown pass, sending the Eagles into the break with a 14-8 advantage.
The Eagles took control in the second half, dominating on both sides of the ball. Randle, Pecanty and Antwine each rushed for touchdowns in the third quarter as PCA built a 34-16 lead.
PCA continued to apply pressure in the fourth quarter. Bishop Greene caught a 40-yard pass from Antwine to set up a 10-yard touchdown run by Grayson Price. Antwine capped the Eagles’ scoring with a 3-yard touchdown run.
Pecanty delivered a standout all-around performance, rushing for 161 yards and two touchdowns while also catching a touchdown pass. Defensively, he recorded two interceptions and 10 tackles.
“Tonight allowed us to see a lot before we play Claiborne next week, but we beat CCA by a lot in our scrimmage, so we knew we had to come out harder in the second half,” Pecanty said.
Antwine threw for 103 yards and one touchdown while rushing for 42 yards and two scores in his first game as PCA’s starting quarterback.
Randle rushed for 72 yards and two touchdowns while adding six tackles on defense.
Price also made an impact on both sides of the ball, finishing with six tackles, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery to go along with his rushing touchdown.
PCA will travel to face Claiborne Academy next Friday.
