Cannon River Belles capture Championship in Fairhope

FAIRHOPE, Ala. (VDN) — The 2013 Cannon River Belles captured the Fairhope Spring Blast championship in Fairhope, Alabama, finishing the tournament with a perfect 3-0 record.

The Belles opened play with a 5-0 win as Raedon Busby scored once and added an assist. Marley Busby and Emma Mailhot each scored two goals in the victory.

In the second game, Cannon River earned a 3-0 win behind goals from Lucy Nasif, Marie Bourne and Emma Mailhot. Raedon Busby recorded three assists, while Lucy Sherburn secured the shutout with four saves.

The Belles clinched the title with a 4-2 win over Union 10 Academy in the championship game. Lucy Nasif scored twice, including a goal assisted by Raedon Busby and another assisted by Marie Bourne. Marie Bourne also found the net off an assist from Raedon Busby, and McKinley Tolliver added a goal to seal the win.
