Joshua Rush 1984-2026

VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — 

Joshua Andrew Rush passed away on Tuesday, June 30, 2026. He was 41 years old. Josh was born November 23, 1984 in Vicksburg, MS. He was the son of Paul and Wendi Rush. He was one of two children.

Josh worked most of his life as a carpenter. He had one daughter, Brylee. Josh loved to hunt, fish, and spend time with family and friends. He was an avid animal lover and took care of many stray animals of all types.

Josh is preceded in death by his father, Paul Rush, grandparents, Mickey Rush (Edgar) and Barbara Chobanian (John), and aunt, Viki Porter. Josh is survived by his mother, Wendi Rush, daughter, Brylee, sister Shelly Prescott (Raymond), nieces Haylee Prescott and Sarah Prescott, aunts, Barbara Shannon (Michael) and Sheila Rush, uncles Mark Preston (Tina), and Henry Lee (Pat), along with numerous cousins.

A memorial service will be held at Glenwood Funeral Home in Vicksburg, MS on Friday, July 3, 2026. There will be a visitation from 2-3 with a service at 3 P.M. Honorary pallbearers are Charlie Carroll, Kenny Gurley, Drake Davidson, Chris Simms, Johnny Anderson, and Taylor King.
