Sandra Lea Heath 1961-2026

VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — 

Sandra Lea Heath, 64, passed away at her home in Vicksburg, on July 7, 2026.

Visitation will be Saturday, July 25, 2026, at 9 a.m. with funeral service at 10 a.m. at the Rolling Fork Methodist Church. Graveside service will be at Mound Cemetery in Rolling Fork following the church service.

She was born September 16, 1961, in Vicksburg to T.A. and Louise Heath at the Mercy Hospital. She grew up in Onward and Rolling Fork.

A graduate of Rolling Fork High School, Lea then attended Mississippi Delta Community College where she earned a degree in computer science.

She worked at Farm Fresh Catfish in Hollandale before returning to Delta State University to earn a Bachelor’s Degree in computer programming.

Upon graduation, she began her career at the Mississippi State Tax Commission.

At the time of her death, Lea was employed at the Corp of Engineers in the property department for many years as a private employee and later as a federal employee where she was an invaluable member of the team to her coworkers who were like family to her.

She was a member of the Rolling Fork Methodist Church.

Lea enjoyed quilting and was past president of the Vicksburg Quilting Club. She cared for many fur babies, especially her cats. Lea had a great interest in researching her family’s genealogy and loved to read a good book.

She is preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her sister, Lynn (Jim) Newman of Rolling Fork; her brother, Kelly (Glynda) Heath of Clinton; her nieces and nephews, Leslie (Paul) Dees of Ethel; Lisa (Matt) Reed of Madison; Robbie Heath and Grant Heath, both of Clinton; Glyn (Kameryn) Heath of Gluckstadt; and great nieces, Landry Rose Holland and Lorelei Marie Dees as well as several cousins.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Jimmy Grace, Michael Wesley, Ronnie Mackey, Roger Arnold, Paul Richards, Joel Brown, and Jeff Warren.
