The Warren Central High School volleyball team picked up its third consecutive victory Thursday by defeating Pearl High School in straight sets.

The Lady Vikes earned a 25-23, 25-16 and 25-12 win to improve to 3-4 on the season.

KeKe McKay turned in another standout performance with 23 points and five aces.

“We didn’t come out with a lot of energy, but we finished out strong,” McKay said. “I think our coach getting on to us made us play harder.”

Addison Marshall added 19 points and three aces for Warren Central, while Evella Fairley contributed 13 points. Kennadi Smith finished with eight points, Shamiyah Pernell recorded four points and one ace, and Alice Luna added one ace.

Head coach Leighton Willoughby said she was pleased with the team’s performance and its ability to improve throughout the match.

“I’m very happy we won, and I’m excited that we saw improvement,” Willoughby said. “We didn’t start as strong as we wanted to, but we were able to overcome that.”

Warren Central will return to action Monday when it hosts Richland.
