Vicksburg Junior High volleyball sweeps Old Towne
Vicksburg Junior High’s seventh- and eighth-grade volleyball teams achieved their first wins of the season against Old Towne, with both teams winning in two sets. The Missy Gators will next face Germantown on Thursday.
Vicksburg Junior High School’s seventh- and eighth-grade volleyball teams picked up their first wins of the season Monday night with victories over Old Towne.
The seventh-grade Missy Gators earned a two-set victory, winning 15-25 and 12-25.
Bree’Lynn Hill finished with six points for Vicksburg, while Kanecie Harris added five points. Janie Truitt contributed eight points, and Sarai Wells finished with three points in the win.
Vicksburg’s eighth-grade team also came away victorious, taking two sets. The Missy Gators won the first set 12-25 before securing the second set 14-25.
Teleia Williams led the way with 20 points and was the team’s top scorer from the start. She also recorded 12 aces.
Dakota West added five points, while Kaycie Coleman finished with four points and Amber Jefferson contributed three. Cal’lynch Hunter scored two points, including the winning point in the final set. Lauren Fubbs added one point.
Both teams are led by Vicksburg Junior High head coach Jennifer Stewart.
The Missy Gators will travel to Germantown on Thursday.
