Absentee Voting Available for Upcoming Municipal Election
VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — Vicksburg residents who are unable to vote in person on election day may still cast their ballots using the absentee voting process.
Absentee voting is available for individuals who are unable to make it to the polls due to illness, physical disability, travel for business or vacation, jury duty, military service, school obligations, jail confinement, or while caring for someone who is ill or physically disabled.
Applications for absentee ballots for municipal elections must be obtained from the City of Vicksburg City Clerk’s Office, located at 1401 Walnut Street. Office hours are Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. To request an application by mail, call (601) 634-4553.
Applications are typically valid for the next election only; however, voters with physical disabilities may request permanent absentee status. Voters granted this status must participate in all primary and general elections in their area to retain eligibility. Failure to do so will result in the loss of permanent absentee status.
Once an application is approved, voters will receive their ballot by mail. Completed ballots must be returned to the City Clerk’s Office by 5 p.m. on the day before the election, June 2, 2025. Voters may also cast their absentee ballot in person at the City Clerk’s Office during regular business hours and from 8 a.m. to noon on the Saturday before the election, May 31, 2025.
For more information or to request an application, contact the City Clerk’s Office at (601) 634-4553.
