Alcorn State University Hosts 42nd Annual Jazz Festival
Jazz enthusiasts and music lovers are gearing up for the 42nd Alcorn State University Jazz Festival, set to take place from April 18 to April 20. Hosted by Alcorn State University, this festival has a great lineup of performances and workshops.
The festivities kick off on April 18 at the Fine Arts Little Theater on Alcorn’s Lorman Campus with a Guest Artist Workshop starting at 1:00 pm. The event offers attendees a unique opportunity to engage with seasoned professionals in the field.
On April 20, there will be many performances at the Vicksburg Convention Center. The morning session will feature concerts by high school jazz ensembles, followed by afternoon performances by college and university jazz ensembles.
The highlight of the day includes a Q&A session with renowned saxophonist Bobby Watson at 4:00 pm, followed by a captivating concert by Jazz Educators at 7:00 pm. The festival ends with a performance by the Bobby Watson Quartet at 8:00 pm.
