Alderman Mayfield said Contractors Workshop a success

VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — Alderman TJ Mayfield is proud to announce the success of the opening night of the recent Contractors Workshop, held at MCity in partnership with the Mississippi Development Authority (MDA). The event drew a strong turnout, with attendees traveling from across the state to participate in a great professional development and networking opportunity.

The workshop reached full capacity, with a standing-room-only crowd that included contractors, entrepreneurs, and business leaders representing a diverse cross-section of Mississippi’s economic landscape. The strong attendance highlighted both the demand for accessible business education and the value of collaboration between local leadership and state agencies.

“This event exceeded expectations in every way,” said Alderman Mayfield. “Seeing so many individuals from different regions and industries come together in one space speaks volumes about the momentum we’re building. The workshop offered a comprehensive curriculum designed to support both new and established contractors. Course topics included business planning, bonding and insurance, project management, accounting, and marketing, all of which are considered to be key areas essential for long-term sustainability and scalability in the construction and contracting industries.

Alderman Mayfield expressed gratitude to MDA, participating businesses, and all attendees for contributing to the event’s success and indicated that similar programs may be planned in the future to continue fostering growth and opportunity across the community.
