Andrew James Butts: 1960-2025

VICKSBURG, Miss. — Andrew James Butts passed away on Wednesday, April 2, 2025. He was born in Vicksburg, MS on July 9, 1960, to Thomas C. Butts, Sr. and Phyllis Joyce Dietz Butts. He enjoyed hunting, watching westerns, gun smoke and spending time with close friends and family. 

He is preceded in death by his parents, Thomas C Butts, Sr. and Phyllis Joyce Dietz Butts; brother, Thomas C. Butts, Jr. and Allin Butts; sister, Lynette J. Butts.

He is survived by his wife, Nora Kelly Butts; daughters, Kelsie Butts and Kayden Butts; brother, Waverly M. Butts (Ann); sister, Janet M. Rotkiewicz (Pete); sister-in-law, Faye Butts. 

Pallbearers will be Jack Dowe, Robert Dowe, Earl May, Jules Carpenter, David Prine and Jack Dowe, III. 

A funeral service will be Friday, April 4, 2025, at 11:00 A.M. at Glenwood Funeral Home in Vicksburg, MS. Visitation will be 9:00 A.M. till the hour of the service. Burial will follow in Reeves Chapel Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, any donations can be made to Northside Baptist Church in his memory.
