Applications are now open for $10,000 Bettye Smith Brown Scholarship
The NAACP Vicksburg Branch, in partnership with the family of Mrs. Bettye Smith Brown, will award two $10,000 scholarships (minimum) to two deserving high school seniors planning to attend an accredited four-year college or university. Recipients must be residents of Warren County, Mississippi, have a strong academic record, attend the Vicksburg Warren School District, and qualify for a Pell Grant.
The scholarship was established by Fayedra Brown-Dear and Adrienne Mosley in loving memory of their mother, Mrs. Bettye Smith Brown, who was a champion of higher education, a proud native of Vicksburg, and a dedicated member of the NAACP Vicksburg Branch.

E-mail your completed application to vicksburgbranch@yahoo.com using the subject BSB Memorial Scholarship Application – First and Last Name by the March 27, 2024, deadline. Semifinalists will be notified before the interview phase of the application process. Finalists will be notified of their award by May 5, 2024.
