VICKSBURG, MS – Vicksburg native Ben Brown earned his first NFL start on Sunday for the New England Patriots. Brown was signed by New England last Wednesday to the 53-man roster and started at center today.

Just less than a week ago, Brown was on the Las Vegas Raiders’ practice squad but his football career did a complete 360 as he snapped the ball for the Patriots on Sunday. New England fell short to the Houston Texans 41-21.

Ben Brown is filling in for Nick Leverett who suffered an ankle injury. Since entering the NFL, Brown Brown has played for the Cincinnati Bengals, Seattle Seahawks, Arizona Cardinals, and the Patriots.

Brown is no stranger to football as he was a star player at both St. Aloysius High School and the University of Mississippi.

Next Sunday, Brown and the Patriots will face the Jacksonville Jaguars.
