PCA crushed Hillcrest; Jung is Warren County’s new lead rusher

Jase Jung had a magical homecoming night as he broke the Warren County overall rushing yards record and the single-season rushing yards record. He now has a career of 4,976 rushing yards as he surpassed Brian Darden’s record(4,919) and he also has 2,271 rushing yards on the season.
“I found out how close I was to breaking the record just a few days before the game so I knew I had to be fully locked in to get that record,” Jase said. “I wouldn’t want to do it with any other team because these guys are my family and I’m grateful and excited about tonight and I’m keeping God first through it all.”
PCA crushed Hillcrest Academy 62-18 where they controlled the clock throughout the entire game. The first quarter belonged to the Eagles as Jung scored three rushing touchdowns while Austen Moore ran in a 67-yard score and Grayson Price scored from a 4-yard run. Henry Slayton ran a successful 2-point conversion while Hunter Simms and Conley Johnston both grabbed defensive sacks.
In the second quarter, Jung took in a 44-yard touchdown as PCA took the 44-6 halftime lead. Coming out of halftime, the crowd witnessed history when Jung broke the record after scoring a 63-yard touchdown.
As the running clock was in full effect, PCA grabbed another late touchdown when Grayson Price scored from a long run. Tyler Halter also scored a 2-point conversion and Slayton forced a safety when he sacked the Cougar’s quarterback in the fourth quarter.
PCA is now 5-2 on the year and in a couple of weeks, they will play Prairie View Academy for a district championship.
