Vicksburg native and former NFL player De’Michael Harris took the time to congratulate Porter’s Chapel Academy football player Jase Jung on breaking his Warren County rushing record.

“Congratulations Jase,” Harris said. “All records are meant to be broken and don’t stop now because there’s plenty of work to be done.”

Last Friday, Jung put on a show at Delta Academy where he rushed for 532 yards and seven touchdowns. Jung’s touchdowns went for 55, 6, 3, 35, 43, 1, and 11 yards.

Back in 2015, Harris starred for St. Aloysius where he rushed for 395 yards against Bayou Academy. Jung is now the record holder after last Friday’s performance. Just two weeks ago he also broke a school rushing touchdown record as he now sits with a career of 51 rushing touchdowns.

Harris urged Jung to not stop competing and to strive for it all.

“Even though it’s early in the season take every rep seriously and play like it’s your last,” Harris added.

PCA will host Prentiss Christian on Friday.
