Blackmore Has His Eyes Set on the 2024 Season

VICKSBURG, MS. – As the regular football season approaches, Cedric Blackmore is all set to have a positive impact on Vicksburg High School in 2024.

Blackmore, a senior running back, has earned a name for himself by bulldozing through multiple defenders to gain positive yards for the Gators. His strength is a huge part as it normally takes more than one defensive player to get him to the ground.

“Strength and power is what I’m the best at and when I get that ball in my hand I’m not letting anything stop me,” Blackmore said.

Blackmore was a true gift to Vicksburg’s program last season as he earned all 439 of his rushing yards through tough running up the middle. He also received All-County and All-District Honors in 2023.

Although 2023 was a success for VHS who had a 7-4 record, Blackmore is looking for brighter things in 2024.

“It’s going to be a good one this year and the plan is to complete everything we didn’t last year,” Blackmore added.

As of now, Blackmore sits as an underrated athlete with no scholarship offers, but once schools see how dominant he can be, he’s positive that he will attract the right eye.

VHS will begin their season on Friday when they host Holmes County Central.
