Brookhaven man arrested after shooting a woman in the chest

A Brookhaven man has been arrested after he allegedly broke into a home and shot a woman.

Brookhaven Police Chief Kenneth Collins mentioned that 31-year-old Timothy Hudson  broke into a home on East Chickasaw Street where he demanded money before shooting the victim in the chest. She was then airlifted to a Jackson hospital.

Brookhaven PD went on to state that Hudson robbed a Family Dollar on East Monticello Street. He was arrested a short time later.
