Cade Fairley led Hinds CC at the plate on Friday

Vicksburg native Cade Fairley helped Hinds CC baseball team to a 13-10 win over No.22 Lansing CC. The Warren Central graduate went 2 for 4 at the plate with 3 RBIs. Two of his hits were doubles.

Last year, Fairley helped WC reach the state championship game.

RAYMOND, Miss. – The Hinds Community College Baseball team earned a hard fought 13-10 win over #22 ranked Lansing CC at Joe G. Moss Field on Friday afternoon. 
 
Lansing opened the scoring with a three-run shot to right field to take the early advantage. In the bottom half of the frame, Dawson Muenzenmay scored Kaleb Lipscombto score the eagles first run of the game. Immediately following that play Hinds earned another run from a balk to bring the score to 3-2 after one inning of play. 
 
The Stars scored two runs in the top of the second inning, but the Eagles got a run back in the bottom of the second as the visitors led 5-3 going into the third inning. Both teams scored in the third inning to bring the score to 6-4. The Eagles took the lead in the bottom of the fourth inning after a 2-RBI Double by Cade Fairley and an RBI single by Ethan Keen to make the score 7-6.
 
The stars tied it up again in the fifth and regained the lead in the top half of the sixth inning, until Cade Fairley and Ethan Keencame in clutch again for the Eagles. After a scoreless seventh inning, the Eagles had the 9-8 advantage going into the last two inning. In the eighth inning, Lansing scored two runs to take back the lead and the Eagles erupted for four runs after a bases clearing double by pinch hitter Brody Breithaupt followed by a sac fly by Ryder Molea. Hinds shut down Lansing in the top of the ninth inning to earn the 13-10 victory over #22 ranked Lansing.
 
Ethan Keen led the Eagles going 3-for-3 from the plate and scored two runs, while Cade Fairley had the team-high 3 RBI in the win. Kaleb Lipscomb and Dawson Muenzenmayadded two hits apiece in the contest. 
 
Kylan Landers got the start on the mound for the Eagles and pitched 2.0 innings. Red Gatson came in relief and was stuck out three batters in 3.1 innings pitched. Ethan Ross came in relief of Gatson and went 2.1 innings,while Charles Chisolm came in to close it out for Hinds and earned the win on the bump. As a team, the Eagles finished the contest with 13 runs on 14 hits and only made one error.
 
Hinds will return to action on Saturday when they welcome #9 ranked Southeastern Iowa CC to Raymond for a doubleheader. First pitch of the doubleheader is slated for 2 PM.
