Crystal Hood named Principal at Redwood Elementary

REDWOOD, Miss. (VDN) — Crystal Hood of the Vicksburg-Warren School District has been named Principal of Redwood Elementary. The VWSD Board held a special meeting on Friday, during which Hood was recommended for the position. No Board member—which consists of Alonzo Stevens, James Stirgus Jr., Linda Patterson, Bryan Pratt and Joe Loviza—were opposed to the hiring of Hood.

Crystal Hood comes to Redwood Elementary after spending last year at Warren Central High School as the ACME Principal. She will replace Buddy Wooten who spent 10 years as Redwood Principal before retiring this year.

During the last school year’s ratings, Redwood Elementary had a successful grade of an “A”.
