Early Morning Fire in the 100 block of Woodstock

VICKSBURG, Miss. – A structure fire was reported this morning at 122 Woodstock, just before 6 a.m.
The Vicksburg Fire Department responded to the fire that was reported by a resident of the home. They reported seeing smoke and within a short period of time flames were coming out of the structure. Neighbors reported smelling smoke in the early morning hours, but didn’t find a cause of concern to report the smell at that time.

Fire and rescue have previously responded to a structure fire at this address, 122 Woodstock, in December of 2021. The cause of the previous fire was undetermined, but no further investigation was required.
Engine 2, Ladder 3, Battalion 1 and Rescue were first to arrive on the scene. After 30 minutes or so Engine 6 and Engine 7 were called to the scene.
No injuries were reported.
UPDATE 1: At approximately 5:50 a.m., fire units were dispatched to 122 Woodstock Drive for a reported structure fire. Upon arrival, fire crews observed visible smoke coming from the structure. The crews made forcible entry into the home to search for the source of the smoke. Once inside, the fire was discovered upstairs in a bedroom. Firefighters quickly extinguished the fire, and fortunately, there were no injuries.
The Vicksburg Fire Department is investigating the fire with assistance from the State Fire Marshal’s Office.
