Eleazarus Greenleaf joins Jefferson County High School as new boys’ basketball coach.

The Jefferson County School District is thrilled to announce the appointment of Eleazarus Greenleaf as the new boys’ basketball coach of Jefferson County High School for the upcoming school year.

With over a decade of experience as a head coach, Eleazarus Greenleaf is set to bring his impressive track record and deep passion for basketball to the citizens of Jefferson County. LaRondrial Barnes, the athletic director, emphasized Greenleaf’s understanding of the significance of the basketball program to the community.

A native of Greenwood, Mississippi, Greenleaf has been a dedicated educator and basketball coach since 2009. He holds a bachelor’s degree in health, physical education, and recreation from Mississippi Valley State University and a master’s and specialist degrees from Arkansas State University. Currently pursuing a doctorate, Greenleaf’s commitment to education and athletics is unwavering.

Greenleaf’s coaching career includes successful tenures at JJ McClain High, Kosciusko High, and Winona Secondary School. His accolades include being named the 4A Region-4 Coach of the Year three times consecutively and coaching in the prestigious Mississippi Association of Coaches North/South All-Star Game.

A proud member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.- Greenwood Grenada Alumni Chapter, Greenleaf is not only a distinguished coach but also a pillar of the community. He is happily married to Maxine Greenleaf and is a loving father to their three children — Sydney, Jaiden, and Avery.

Superintendent Hammitte expressed his satisfaction with the selection of Coach Greenleaf and eagerly anticipates building upon the previous year’s success under his leadership.

The Jefferson County School District is confident that with Coach Greenleaf at the helm, the boys’ basketball program at Jefferson County High School will reach new heights of excellence and inspire the entire community.
