Jefferson family thanks community for support following judge’s passing
VICKSBURG, Miss.(VDN) — The family of the late Judge James Edward Jefferson Jr. has expressed gratitude to the community for the outpouring of support following his death.
In a message released this week, the family thanked friends, community members and local agencies for the prayers, visits and other acts of kindness shown during their time of loss.
“The family of the Honorable James Edward Jefferson Jr. extends our heartfelt appreciation for the many expressions of love, prayers and kindness shown during this time of loss,” the statement read.
Family members said they were grateful for every visit, phone call, message, card and floral arrangement received as they celebrated and honored Jefferson’s life and legacy.
“Your presence, encouragement and prayers have meant more to us than words can express,” the family said.
The family also offered special acknowledgements to several organizations and individuals for their support, including the Vicksburg Police Department, Warren County Sheriff’s Department, Vicksburg Fire Department and the Mississippi Highway Patrol.
Additional thanks were extended to Warren County Justice Court judges and staff, the Civil Service Commission and several medical and funeral service providers, including Peoples Funeral Home, Thompson Funeral Home, Whitney Limousine, Jackson Memorial, St. Dominic’s Hospital, Merit Health Hospital, Lakeview Memorial Funeral Home, Dillon-Chisley Funeral Home and CJ Williams Mortuary Service.
The family concluded the message by expressing sincere gratitude to the community for its continued support during the difficult time.
