Jones re-elected for third term on Claiborne County School Board
PORT GIBSON, Miss. (VDN) — Jacqueline Jones was re-elected to serve a third term on the Claiborne County School District Board on the Tuesday, Nov. 4 elections, marking a decade of dedicated service to the community’s students and educators.
Jones, District 1 board member, first joined the board ten years ago. She has been recognized for her steady leadership and commitment to advancing educational excellence throughout the district.
Over her tenure, she has focused on improving student achievement, supporting teachers, and strengthening community engagement in the four local schools educating approximately 1,156 students.
In her third term, Jones aims to boost student achievement, close learning gaps, and expand access to advanced and career-focused programs. She plans to support and retain quality educators, improve school facilities and safety, and strengthen community engagement through transparent communication. Fiscal responsibility and effective use of resources for long-term district growth also remain key priorities.
After accepting the win in the election, Jones posted the following to social media:

To my supporters and the amazing constituents of District 1, thank you for your confidence, commitment, and belief in my vision for our school district. Because of you, I have the privilege to continue serving our community with integrity, dedication, and a heart for progress. Together, we will keep moving Claiborne County School District forward.”
