Jordan Taylor named MVP 8th Grade Future Elite Basketball Game

DECATUR, Miss. (VDN) — Vicksburg native Jordan Taylor was named the Most Valuable Player in the 8th Grade Future Elite Basketball Game. Taylor led Team Jefferson to a 62-58 win over Team Burkes where he scored 23 points. He also collected, 10 rebounds, three forced turnovers, two steals, and two assists.

Jordan Taylor is an eighth grader at Warren Central Junior High who recently helped the Vikings to both a basketball and football Little Six Championships.

The All-Star Game was held at East Central Community College and was held by the Magnolia Sports Association. 

Other local players:

Vicksburg Junior High School basketball player Antwun Chiplin also played for Team Jefferson where he had six points, three assists, two rebounds, two forced turnovers, and two steals. 

WCJHS basketball player Ja’Ven Lee played for a short time in the All-Star Game before going down with an ankle injury. He scored five points and had two steals and two forced turnovers.

St. Aloysius Junior High player Kelci Bingham helped Team Cooper to a 51-31 win. She scored three points in the victory.
