Jordan Taylor selected for MSA Next Up Showcase All-Star Game

VICKSBURG, Miss.(VDN) — Jordan Taylor, a Vicksburg native, has been selected to play in the Magnolia Sports Association All-Star Basketball Game. The freshman will compete in the MSA Next Up Showcase next month.

Taylor, a 6 foot small forward, starred for Warren Central High School’s ninth-grade team this past season. Playing under ninth-grade Head Coach Calvin Morgan, he helped lead the team to the semifinals while the Vikings suffered just one loss on the year. Taylor averaged 15 points per game during the season.

Following his freshman campaign, Taylor was promoted to the varsity squad under Head Coach Keith Williams.

Before the basketball season, Taylor also contributed to Warren Central’s freshman football team, helping lead the group to an undefeated season and a Little Six championship.

The Next Up Showcase is scheduled for April 11 at 6 p.m. at East Central Community College, where ninth- and 10th-grade athletes will compete.
