Lady Flashes shutout Yazoo County 4-0

St. Aloysius softball team shut out Yazoo County 4-0 on Thursday night.

Kyleigh Cooper hit her first double in the first inning to get St. Al on the board. Presley Carr got the next run as she scored off a passed ball to put the score at 2-0. In the second inning, Cooper hit her second double where Megan Theriot drove in the run. Carr earned her second run she got a steal at home.

Cooper pitched all five innings where she struck out six batters. She also went 2 for 2 with two doubles and two RBIs.

Madison Spencer hit a double as well as the Lady Flashes took home the win.

JV:

St. Aloysius also won the junior varsity game 6-3.

YC went up 1-0 early in the game until Carr singled to tie the game at 1-1. Kennadi Blassingame and Carr both added a run to help St. Al take the 3-1 lead.

Later on in the win, Madelyn Kavanaugh’s single brought in two runs from Addie G. Clay and Madison Connely.

Kavanaugh went 2 for 2 with two RBIs. She also threw two strikeouts. Carr had one hit and one RBI while Addy Lyons had an RBI.
