Local graduates received scholarships on Saturday

Vicksburg natives Adalyn Anderson and Tyra Bridges received the Bettye Smith-Brown Memorial Scholarship. A luncheon was held at Calvary Baptist Church on Saturday.

Anderson and Bridges received the scholarship due to their academic achievements. The scholarship is worth $10,100. Both Adalyn(WC)and Tyra(RCEC) graduated with honors back in May. They will be attending Mississippi State University in the Fall.

Vicksburg natives Davian Willams and
Kelvin Richardson received the Tierre LeRoi
Brown Scholarship, worth $545.00. Williams
and Richardson both graduated from
Vicksburg High School and will be attending
Alcorn State University.

The event was held by the Vicksburg NAACP.
