Mary Elizabeth Selvy Wilson, 1954-2024

A Celebration of Life will be held for Mary Elizabeth Selvy Wilson on February 10, 2024 , 2:30 PM at St. Paul Family Life Center, Tiffentown Road, Vicksburg, MS.

Visitation will be held at C J Williams Mortuary Center, 1625 Monroe St., Vicksburg, MS on February 9, 2024 from 1:00 – 6:00 PM with family present from 5:00 – 6:00 PM.

Mary Elizabeth Selvy Wilson was born on September 21, 1954, to Katie Selvy and the late Luther Selvy, Sr., of Vicksburg, Mississippi. She accepted Christ at an early age at Bethlehem #1 MB Church under the leadership of Reverend F.P. Short. She departed this life on Saturday, February 3, 2024, at River Region Medical Center.

Mary retired from Waterwayss Experiment Station in 2015 after thirty years of service. She was an active choir member at Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church and the Warren County Inspirational Choir.

Mary was preceded in death by sisters, Rose Shelby and Betty Allen; dad, Luther Selvy; brother-in-law, Steve Wilson; and sisters-in-law, Heavy Cage and Robbie Wilson.

She leaves to cherish her memory: her husband, Robert Wilson, Jr.; mother, Katie M. Selvy, Zaneta Carter (Derrin), Darrell Wilson (Jerrica), Jessica Berry (Ashley), Karen Darlin, Denise Darling Wyldbore, Connie Calvin, and Barbara Jean Appleby; grandchildren, Jaylon Carter, Alexandria Carter, Kanyia Carter, Zlyah Walker, Angel Lyons, Thomas Lewis, Jr., Rikaiyah Berry, Shakira Wilson, Darrell Anthony Wilson, Darrell Wilson, Jr., Amani Wilson, and Ashanti Wilson; great-grandson, Ayden Brown; siblings, Henry Selvy (Carrie), Minnie Selvy, Laura Selvy, Luther Selvy, Jr., Algina Selvy, Katie Ree Selvy, Mattie Selvy, Monica Selvy, Willia Selvy, and Willie B. Selvy; and a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and other relatives.
