Vicksburg Police Officer cleared in shooting death of teenager – Grand Jury
VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — A Warren County Grand Jury has found there was no criminal conduct in the officer-involved shooting death of Amarion Thomas.
The Office of the Attorney General also completed its review into the December 4, 2024, incident in Vicksburg involving one officer with the Vicksburg Police Department and presented it to the Warren County grand jury. The Grand Jury reported that it found no criminal conduct on behalf of the officer involved. As such no further criminal action will be taken by the Office in this matter.
Thomas was shoot by a VPD officer in the process of the VPD serving a warrant at his home. The Vicksburg Police Department turned over the investigation of the shooting to the MBI. The MBI has not released any information on the shooting or the details.
