VWSD names Parent of the Year

VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — At the final board meeting of 2025, the Vicksburg Warren School District named Vernessa Noye as the 2025-2026 Parent of the Year.

Noye is grandmother of Carter Dukes who attends South Park Elementary School in Vicksburg.

The district said Noye was an inspiration.

“Mrs. Noye is a dedicated and engaged advocate for education. She consistently partners with teachers and staff, stays actively involved on campus, and supports learning both at home and at school. Her commitment extends beyond her own child—she contributes to building a positive school culture that uplifts students, families, and educators alike,” stated the district in a social media post.

The district said Noye made a lasting impact across the school community.
