One dead, four injured after rider avoids fallen passenger on l-10

Mississippi Highway Patrol confirmed the identity of a deadly motorcycle crash victim.

Officials said 43-year-old Amanda Holden died after crashing on I-10 near the Menge Avenue exit on Sunday.

Mississippi Highway Patrol said Holden was traveling with three other motorcyclists, heading east.

One of the bikes was driven by a 39-year-old man, and a 16-year-old passenger was riding with him.

At one point, the passenger fell off the bike, and Holden took evasive action to avoid hitting the fallen passenger and crashed.

Holden received fatal injuries and died at the scene.

The two other motorcyclists also took evasive measures and crashed.

Two people were flown to a hospital in New Orleans, and two others were taken via ambulance to local hospitals.

The extent of the other victims’ injuries is unknown at this time, and the crash is being investigated by Mississippi Highway Patrol.
